Who’s on First?
It has often been said the only constant in our industry is that it is always changing. Well change is clearly in the air throughout the restaurant arena. Just this past month we have seen Jean Birch take the helm of IHOP, Lane Caldwell take the reins at Boston Market while Paul Avery has announced his departure from Outback. Dick Rivera has dusted off the baton in order conduct Real Mex and Carin Stutz has landed at Brinker to head up global business development. Larry Destro is now the big enchilada at Taco Del Mar while Clarice Turner is no longer taking and baking at Papa Murphy’s. Recently David Goronkin was named to the prexy post at Bennigan’s while Paul Murphy moved from bagels to tacos as CEO of Del Taco. Nick Shepherd is running the show at Carlson Restaurants Worldwide while his old buddy Nigel Travis is shaking it up at Dunkin’ Brands. Jeff O’Neil is now CEO of Einstein Noah, Joseph Thompson has become president of Papa John’s and likewise Jeff Warne at O’Charley’s.
